5 ways to fix WAR’s mail system

I’ve got an auction mailbox full of 90+ items and it keeps going into the overflow regularly. Yet I can only pick up one item at a time… and each one takes a good 10 or 15 seconds to process. Emptying out my whole mailbox takes me 25 minutes. That’s not good. In fact, it’s painful. And it appears I’m not the only one who thinks it should be a priority.

I beg of you, oh Mythic-ites, please fix the mail system. It’s not as bad as it once was (which was absurdly slow), but it’s still so painful to use that I actually leave dozens of items in the mailbox until they’re nearly expired for fear of the time investment required to pick them up!

So, my top 5 list of suggested changes to WAR’s mail system:

  1. For the love of god, let me open multiple/all messages at once, and delete/detach all associated items.
  2. Allow multiple items to be attached to a single outgoing message. Please!
  3. Let us preview the item names for attachments when mousing over a message. This goes for money, too;  I want to see the amount attached on hover, and not have to open the message for it. It shouldn’t be that hard — if all else fails, just append it to the message subject string. :)
  4. Add some kind of filters to prevent my mailbox from filling up with gold-seller spam.
  5. This is obviously the most important thing: Mythic, please replace the hamster inside the server(s) running your mail engine. The poor thing must be exhausted.

And Mythic, while you’re at it, feel free to overhaul the auction house’s interface. There’s a lot that could be improved there, too, but I’ll be nice and save that one for a separate post. :)

the original wow mail system was pretty horrific too but that no excuse.
But the economy in WaR isn’t as important to me as it was in WoW so althought frustrating this isn’t really a deal breaker for me.

I pray for a better mail system. It’s an appalling waste of time.
