My last post about city siege frustration seems to have hit a nerve somewhere, as reroller’s traffic spiked pretty heavily yesterday. We had almost 4-5x our normal number of visitors checking out the blog, which was awesome to behold. To all of our new readers, thanks for stopping by, and please be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed if you’ve enjoyed yourself here. :)
On to the aftermath…
Looks like I’m not the only one who’s had issues with WAR’s end-game of late. There’s a whole lot grumbling an’ muttering going around on the blogs in the last few days on this topic. I thought that since I’ve been remiss with the weekly rollups of late, I’d list a few of the more interesting posts that I’ve seen recently about city sieges here, on both sides of the virtual fence, for your reading enjoyment:
- Werit has a two-parter up about his siege experience: part 1 and part 2
- That’s Skar with a K has a couple of posts detailing his disappointing experience with sieges this week, with some follow-up thoughts here
- Ferrel and I seem to see eye-to-eye on the siege situation
- Syp over at WAAAGH! isn’t looking forward to the siege end-game quite so much anymore
- A Wall of Text is still going to resubscribe and play a Slayer, but the latest endgame news isn’t helping
- Knights of the Feathered Hats has a good list of suggested ways to fix city sieges
- The Dark Crag Dispatch also has a post up with some suggested siege fixes
- To balance things out, Syncaine at Hardcore Casual offers up a list of reasons why the forum trolls are to blame for most of their own problems around sieges
That’s a lot of reading. And all of it is excellent. Gotta love the blogging community in WAR! And on that note, lighten the mood a little, Way of the Chosen has a pretty funny video reaction to the Inevitable City being sieged. :)
Cheers!

I really like the associated photo :)
Sometimes people take games too seriously. Relax. Take it from me I look like a spiked blueberry. :)
Heh, that’s why I threw in that last link to you. ;)
Hit em up in alliance chat next time a city comes under siege. We figured out the system and Have gotten people most of their gear. We also make sure that everyone gets at least 3 bags.
I notice more people that have been getting their gear are willing to pop into the fighting instances. Last siege i was fighting in one of the 48v48 for the whole 6hrs. Was quite fun fighting tooth and nail for the city.
As for the siege system. It needs work and I hope that it comes.
