Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or a raft) for the last few days, you’re probably aware of Darkfall Online’s raft (*cough*) of launch woes and pre-order backlog. Much has been made of the launch, with Keen giving a rather depressing, yet impartial review, along with a whole lot of self-important squawking back and forth between a variety of ”high profile” MMO bloggers.
I thought I’d interject with a dose of levity for your Saturday afternoon delight. A million thanks to Scott Jennings at Broken Toys for digging up this Darkfall “PvP” video. I don’t know where you found this thing, man, but it’s the funniest thing I’ve seen in years. The “legend status achieved” comment on the related blog post made me just about choke laughing.
(Although you probably realize I hold no enmity towards Darkfall based on my previous post about the game, I couldn’t resist posting these.)
There’s always a first for everything, but I don’t think I’ve actually heard a guy record himself panting while killing lowbies in a starter zone while fully geared up. And having invented all of those new ganking techniques! Legend, indeed.
And since no MMO can be complete without a fresh dubbing of this Hitler movie being created on it, may I present the latest entry into the catalogue (and for once, it’s not the same old scene!):
Hopefully that’ll distract folks long enough to forget about a not-so-pleasant launch. Here’s hoping things settle down and you all get to play to your hearts’ content.

Heh, I’m pretty sure that video is a joke, but it’s dead on the money. I’ve seen guys like that before and they were serious. :p

Although it may (most probably) be a joke, this is the reason why I will never play that kind of “sandbox” game even though the freedom/skill based/crafting system appeals to me.
Full of twisted human beings looking for a way to ruin someone’s day.
