So much has changed since the original ToA days. Long gone are the grinds to find the scrolls, or even do the encounter. With a modest amount of BPs, you can get your arti, and the credi, and the scrolls! They now also level off anything. Any form of XP (except quest) will level an arti.

You can also buy MLs from bountpoints as well :)

December 2009
Just wanted to thank you for your insightful article on microtransactions.
I'm a MMORPG newbie, trying to learn as much as possible prior to launch of the game I'd like to participate in.
If you ever blog about Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO by BioWare, I'd like to read- definitely.
Thanks again, --Jon

I kinda feel the same way...

Used to play WoW a lot but once you've done it, realized how giganormous the time commitment is to achieve something really not THAT meaningful...well the incentive to play another MMO and do it all over again isn't really strong.

Nowadays I play for the fun you would get out of an FPS or arcade game so I rulled out "easy to play" MMOs and started on AoC (unbiased, I didn't experience the launch failures) to experience the inovative game mechanics (combo system). Quite fun but again, I don't play as much as I did and find it hard as a result to really get into the game.

I think I'm not the typical MMO consumers anymore.

Not another one!

You will surely be missed, and at least you aren't leaving on "bad terms" with WAR. I can understand the RL constraints that can cut away at your free time. Anyone want a kid...2...and a wife?
